I have an HD 6770 that I can test out for him tomorrow. The 5970 seems to generally score a third higher than the 6770 in benchmarks, so that may give you some indication of how well it'll run. I'm guessing however that it'll be in the low 20s judging by my experience with it and modern titles. It's not likely to be a good experience.

However, the GPU is only part of the chain. What CPU and ram does he have?

Main rig: i7 8086K // EVGA Z370 Micro // 16GB Gskill TridentZ 3200Mhz CL14 // Sapphire Pulse RX 7800XT// a variety of noctua cooling // Corsair RM750x v2 //  Fractal Meshify C

Secondary rig: R5 3600 // MSI B450i Gaming Plus // 16GB Gskill FlareX 3200CL14 // MSI GTX 1080ti Gaming X // Cooler Master V650 // Fractal Meshify C

Audio setup: Audient iD4 // Adam A7X // Sennheiser HD 650 // Sennheiser HD 25-II // Audio Technica M50x // Sennheiser Momentum 4

Test conditions:

Intel QX6700 @2.66 Ghz

Sapphire HD 6770 1 GB DDR5 overclocked to 925 MHz

8 GB DDR2

Old 5400RPM HDD

1080p

Running around tilted towers 1 minute each, no combat

Results:

High settings: MIN 4 AVG 19 MAX 24

Epic settings: MIN 0 AVG 7 MAX 14

Not benchmarked but observed were suggested settings:

60% scaling low-medium settings. Hovered around 40 fps.

HWinfo suggests there results were GPU bound.

The results speak for themselves. I could never see the 5970 hitting 60 FPS on epic settings. Maybe on low-medium settings with some scaling.

OK thanks very much for taking the time for all these benchmarks.

My friend found a hd 5970 which was the best graphics card of 2009,at least in the red team.He wants to play fortnite at 1080p Max settings with 60fps will he be able to do so???

If he doesn't have it yet tell him to save up and buy a 7xxx series gpu. I can hook up an older 7870 GHz edition and test it for you if you'd like...
