Laptop heating problem

Go to solution Solved by userzero,

Turn your game settings down and close your other programs and streaming crap. It'll be fine I should think.

I do some light gaming and web surfing and youtube and netflix on my laptop. Whenever I start gaming the laptop starts heating and the game starts lagging. This wasn't a problem for me a month ago. What should I do?

The laptop is- ASUS R558UQ(i7 version)

Specs-

Processor-Core i7 7500U

Ram- 8GB DDR4 2400mhz

GPU- Geforce 940mx

Yes get compressed air and gently blow it out.

Laptops are supposed to get hot when gaming. That GPU is not great tbh for most modern games. I'm really not surprised it lags. Turn the settings down or get a gaming laptop.

Probably gaming or helping technophobes with tech...

open the thing and put a vacuum cleaner on the cpu fan thing ( dont go too close that u dont snap the fins )   to me a vacuum works better then a compressor for laptops , because usually the fan of the cpu on a laptop is the only exhaust +-

It didn't lag before in the same games and on the same settings.

Should I get a laptop cooler something like this- https://www.amazon.in/Tarkan-Gaming-Cooling-Suitable-Laptops/dp/B01N6S4H3B?tag=googinhydr18418-21&tag=googinkenshoo-21&ascsubtag=5e28cf78-02b2-47c0-b1ad-fc603b2caa00

If it's that new, then you sure have installed some stuff that run background, just take a look at which programs do start when you turn on your PC

Also, what do you mean by "video streaming"? Do you stream while playing videogames? Oh my sweet boy, that laptop doesn't even run properly the videogames, don't stream on that laptop man, you'll burn the whole thing

And yes, a cooler base should help

Sorry, my mistake by streaming I meant youtube and Netflix.

I have attached a screenshot of all the services enabled on boot.
