In numbers? Fortnite. In actual playability? PUBG.

I feel that Fortnite is actually less competitive as everyone basically hides behind walls they can throw up in seconds after getting shot once, or shotgun people from above by spamming stairs so they can't get hit. It's all basically like this: ERMEHGERD I GOT SHOT, *builds wall that needs 50 bullets to break* *2 minutes to heal and peek*.

This is my opinion and experience from playing both. I feel PUBG has better combat since the chances are more even and when you can't find cover, you're just fucked.

Oh how I would love to go on a rant about Fornites BG functionality and if it is actually good but I wont.

Simply Like said above Fornite has more numbers than PUBG but that could be due to 2 factors:

A) being a better game than PUBG

b) Because it is free compared to PUBG

In short Fortnite doesn't have much of a combat system, and the RNG on Bullets is just something that shouldn't be there.

As stated when you get shot it is immediate building a wall to heal up then to try and counter by peaking. Yes in some sense this is a decent competitive game but isn't really as it just comes down to how much RSS you have to build and you quality of aiming. Going back to the RNG Bullets I mean the fact the damage of your gun can vary for no reason specifically on your shotgun. Like I would understand if the damage dropped the further you are (which it does) but the fact you can literally do piss all damage at point blank range with a shotgun that should be doing from 50-60 dmg is something that shouldn't be their in the first  place.

PUBG on the other hand you require to know your surroundings be able to know when to move and try to avoid open ground as much as possible, among this gun damage is Static if a shot hits the chest from a certain weapon again a set of armour it will do Z damage and vica versa. among this the weapon skill is different as you require to think if you should stay and fight or turn and run depending on the scenario you are in.

Over personal experience I prefer PUBG of Fortnite on the bases I just find PUBG more enjoyable and less frustrating.

Some people prefer a challenge, I just band my head against a wall until my method works...

fortnite is free and it has a broader appeal

in addition it isn't exclusive to one console (i know pubg is timed, but still, its during hype time) and isn't  broken into fucking oblivion (its really sad when a mobile port is better looking and more stable than your console port)

so throwing away gameplay debates, fortnite is objectively better and if i were an investor, i would put my money on forntnite

I like PUBG as their intention is to be realistic, do not quite like the cartoonish fornite. But one cost money and the other doesn't. So I go for Fornite.

Neither. They strike different niches. PUBG is more realistic, while Fortnite is more arcadey. It's like comparing Battlefield to Call of Duty. PUBG and Fortnite are both battle royale games, but that's where the similarities end.

The closest contender to PUBG is Ring of Elysium, aka Europa by Tencent. But that's currently in closed beta and region locked to China.
