Quiet Cooler For R5 1600

In fact I don't want a cooler with a 92 mm fan. There is plenty of sites, you can just say the model name or give link from Amazon. Viper can be but I read many reviews that said the Viper model fans are loud.

The Viper fan is noisy at high or max rpm but most fans are. It can be lowered to ~600rpm where it should be fairly quiet.

Why not a 92mm fan? The PR Slim is quieter and performs similarly to the Freezer 33.

The Pure Rock with a 120mm fan performs similarly to the PR Slim but is a bit quieter at load.

If you want to oc, a beefier cooler like the the Mugen 5 Rev. B would be good: https://www.amazon.com/Mugen-Rev-CPU-Cooler-Support/dp/B06ZYB8K77/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1523476637&sr=1-4&keywords=scythe+cooler

I'm using the stock cooler for my R5 1600. I'm going to buy a new CPU cooler for better performance but it has to be quiet. Also, it would be better if it has AM4 kit inside. My budget is not so big, I don't need big and beefy CPU coolers like NH-D15 or even NH-U12S. I thought about Cryorig H7 first but then I found the Arctic Freezer 33. Freezer 33 has a big advantage in my country because it is 2 times cheaper than the H7. Also, there is another version Freezer 33 Esports One but it costs twice too. So should I give twice the money for H7 or Esports One version? Also is Freezer 33 a good cooler and quiet? Quietness is very important to me.

Well I have the cpu above yours (r5 1600x) and it doesn't come with a cooler. I bought a cooler master hyper t4. It's not easy to mount. You do need 2 people but it works just fine.

The stock cooler should be perfectly fine for performance and silence. I've had my 1600 at 4GHz on the stock cooler with no temperature or noise problems. If you want something completely inaudible though, go for a Noctua or Be Quiet! cooler.

You need to update your signature then. It says 3.8GHz. You're saying 4.0GHz

Where are you shopping/located? Budget?

What case and ram do you have? Are you planning to oc?

@WoodenMarker I forgot to mention that, so so sorry. I'm in Turkey but I can buy from Amazon if it is sold by Amazon.com. Like I said I don't have a straight budget but it shouldnt be more than 50 dollars which is still so much. I found the Freezer 33 for 130 TL. Which equals to 25-30 dollars. I have the P400 and Gskill RipjawsV RAM's. I'm not sure about OC but I think I'm going to, at least try.

Get a Gammaxx 400. They're pretty quiet, look good, do an excellent job of cooling, better than many coolers that cost twice as much, are compatible with Ryzen right out of the box and cost around $20 (US).

If you're not planning to oc, a PR Slim should be plenty: https://www.amazon.com/quiet-BK008-Pure-Rock-Slim/dp/B01KVNCEIG/ref=sr_1_8?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1523420752&sr=1-8&keywords=am4+cooler&refinements=p_n_shipping_option-bin%3A3242350011

If you want a bit more cooling, the Viper is better albeit not as quiet: https://www.hepsiburada.com/akasa-venom-775-1155-1156-1150-1151-am2-am2-am3-am3-uyumlu-islemci-sogutucusu-ak-ccx-4002hp-p-BD100258?magaza=Teknobiyotik

It might be a good idea to contact the seller to see if it includes the AMD mounting lever though. Half of the cooler's reviews mention it as included and another half gives it no mention.

What shops are you looking at? I'm having a bit of trouble finding the Turkish shops I used to browse.

beQuiet or Noctua is the way to go for silence. If you are not going to OC then the stock cooler will be sufficient. Just turn down fan speed while keeping an eye on CPU temps.

There are the most products on this site also. I decided to OC but it should be not too noisy. Mugen B looks like a good alternative but I don't know how Scythe deals with international shopping. I don't want to give tons of money and fee after I gave to Amazon too. Newegg did that and I'm not sure. Do you have any more advice? @WoodenMarker

I made sure to turn on the filter for international shipping on amazon. Curiously, it doesn't show up on the cooler page itself. It might be a good idea to contact the seller or amazon about it.

Have you tried oc'ing yet? What are your current temps? I presumed that the stock cooler was too noisy at stock speeds. If that's not the case, there might be a misunderstanding with how quiet you need the cooler to be.

Quietness of the stock cooler is enough. Right now I want a cooler that won't be noisier than the stock cooler in base frequency when I do OC. 3.8 GHz maybe. With AM4 kit and sold by Amazon or in Turkey. Now I wish I'd bought the Crosshair VI Hero not the Gaming 5. @WoodenMarker

If you haven't tried oc'ing with the stock cooler yet, I'd recommend seeing how it oc's.

The PR Slim should do all of that.

@WoodenMarkerI tried and it didn't go well. Just got to 3.6 GHz. Can PR Slim make 3.8 GHz with low noise? If it can, is there a way I can go to 4.0 GHz without buying a big cooler or spending much more money?

It depends on your luck. with the cpu but ~3.7ghz+ should be doable for most with the stock cooler.

What settings did you try and what are your temps?

@WoodenMarker 3.8 GHz, 1.35V 85 degrees in Prime 95 with a lot of fan noise, 65 degrees in Far Cry 5 with noise but not like in the Prime95. I think if I get a good cooler like Mugen 5 I can hit 4.0 GHz, maybe more than that with mediocre fan noise. What do you think?

No guarantees on 4ghz but you should be able to hit 3.9ghz with a better cooler.

I know, limits of my CPU, silicon lottery. I hope it can do the 4.0 GHz.

@WoodenMarker so which one would you recommend at last? Should have the AM4 kit inside or I can get seperately.

Both the SR Slim and Mugen 5 Rev. B come with the required mounting hardware for AM4.
