Making a torrent box

Go to solution Solved by Jarsky,

You can then mount your share to Raspbian such as this: https://www.htpcguides.com/mounting-storage-drives-in-debian-linux/

Then once you've confirmed that the network share is configured properly, set the download folder in Deluge to the share path mounted on Raspbian.

Personally, on my storage I have a seperate folder, which uses a "service account" that has full read/write to that folder - and thats the network folder and user/pass I use for doing this with. Better for security.

So mine looks like this (using Ubuntu + ruTorrent)....

Storage Config (through Windows Server):

SMB Config:

Torrent Client (ruTorrent) download path:

Right now I have a media server that I use nzb's with, but every now and then when I can't find something I go to torrents. For whatever reason, whenever I torrent on my server it results in a crash. Since I'm often not around my server, I'd like to avoid crashes. Now i have a raspberry pi 3 available to use, and a dell optiplex tower. I'm looking for a way to torrent files and have them be automatically sent over the network to my server. I already have raspbian on the pi, and deluge set up that I can access remotely. Now I need to know a way to have the files I torrent to automatically be sent to the server.

Any ideas are appreciated.

The inner machinations of my mind are an enigma.

Most torrent software these days has some form of web interface. You can enable that and simply access the web page and upload the torrent file or paste the magnet url

Check qBitTorrent (it works great for me, but not using the web interface personally) : https://github.com/lgallard/qBittorrent-Controller/wiki/How-to-enable-the-qBittorrent-Web-UI
