Unable to burn audio CDs

For some time, I'm unable to burn audio CDs on both my desktop and laptop. After some research I thought it could be the dvd drive being old, but now I switched to a newer oen and the problem continues. The burning process starts and runs normaly, when it finishes the cd will come out as intended. But then, when I insert the CD back inside, there's nothing on the CD, it shows as a empty disk. I have tried burning with the slowest speed available, nothing, but when I burn as a normal data CD it works, the problem is with audio CDs.

What can be going on here? I think it may be related to windows 10...

Which software are you using to burn the CDs? In my experience, WMP and iTunes still do the best job of this.

audio needs a special layout to be able to be recognized as an audio disc

check this for example   ^tats with imgburn ( good burning program btw )

 

just putting the content on the disc will never make it work as an audio cd without the proper layout , cue file n what not

All my life I've burn audio CD's using Nero and Windows Media Player, I know that.

i would never burn a disc using windows media player, anyway try imgburn then, nvr had issues with imgburn

Thanks, I will try. I have used this ImBurn in the past but I completely forgot about it, I was looking for a good free burner so I won't have to torrent Nero again

I would recommend Foobar2k. Never had issues with that. I don't remember if burning function is integrated or addon, though.
