Cant update my firewire card

Hello everyone!

I would like to record my DV tapes from my cam recorder by using the capture of Premiere Pro CC 2018. A mini DV cable goes from the cam recorder to the firewire pci card.

To make it work, the firewire card driver needs to be "394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (Legacy)". However, in the process of updating the driver, it crashes my PC.

Does anyone know how to update the drivers to "394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (Legacy)" without crashing? Or another firewire card I should purchase that supports this driver?

Spoiler

PC specs:

Ryzen 5 1600

16GB 3000MHz Corsair LPX

Samsung EVO 850 250GB

RM550x

GTX 950

Windows 10 Pro

Firewire card:

VIA VT6307 / asmedia ASM1083

Thanks in advance!

I'm guessing you'll need to do one of two things:

1. Download the official drivers from the official website.

2. If #1 doesn't work, buy a new firewire card (not sure what would be a good choice).

Look on the official website for official drivers and if you can't find anything that works well I guess you'll have to look for a new card but firewire is long gone so it'll be hard finding one.

1394 Firewire Controllers

Support for VIA 1394 Firewire controllers is included in Windows 10. It is not necessary to download extra drivers.

Seems like there isn't an official download... I guess I have to purchase another firewire card...
