Simple RAM question

Nah it's not necessary. But Ryzen for example is quite picky so i'd always look for RAM on the list.

No. Those times are long over. As long as the speed and memory type is right, then you should not worry.
The only time you should have it in mind, is if you buy special server stuff.....

If it's ryzen, try to make sure it's on the list. Intel? Probably not needed unless you're looking at 4000 mhz+ ram

I wouldn't say that isn't the case anymore. Sure, 2666 MHz and lower is mostly fine, but use non b die stuff above that and a lot of the time you'll run into issues.
