It'll work, granted the board has been updated with the latest BIOS supporting those chips. On older BIOS revisions, no.

 

 

Wilk IT rock with r7 second gen? Or nah. I cant find straight anwser online

They will work. But it will need a bios update. 

 

Also, I read that Precision Boost 2 requires the new 450/470 chipsets. Don't know if it's true or not.

XFR2 is a 400 series exclusive, precision boost is just regular turbo and supported across all chipsets :)

Yes, the B series and the X series of chipsets allow for CPU overclocking.

You can't, you will need an older Ryzen CPU to be able to boot and update the BIOS.

I believe you can still request a 'boot kit' from the AMD warranties page.

In the problem description area write "Boot Kit Required"

 

It will probably cost you shipping but saves you having to buy a cpu, update the bios and get rid of it. You need to return the cpu you're sent but it's probably cheaper then buying a used CPU
