Also is it a 1070 or 1070Ti you're getting?

I'm getting the 1070, but I'm considering the 1070Ti simply due to the fact that I want the PC to last a long while without having to upgrade it too frequently. But I have two 1080p 60hz monitors, which I may upgrade to 1440p or even 4k in the distant future

I don't see the reason for the H7 over the stock Ryzen cooler. Case also seems quite overkill, something around $100 would probably be ok. I would also recommend you get a better motherboard for a 1700; preferably something like an x370 prime pro.

Also, AMD should be launching Ryzen 2 in around 2 weeks so you should probably wait for that.

Side note, what is the pc for?

I got rid of the case and went for something more simple, and I upgraded to a Prime x370, saved me almost $100 lol. The case was questionable to begin with

No, I don't think know exactly how to go about doing that to be perfectly honest with you

Gaming and productivity. And I don't see myself getting the actual pc for a few months, so we'll see what happens in regard to which CPU I'll be getting.

A b350 board would probably be fine then, though I would go for something like a pro4 since it is around $20-$30 cheaper.

It sounds like you won't buy the pc until after Ryzen 2 is launched, though, so I would wait for that. Also, keep in mind that the market will PROBABLY change by the time you purchase (GPU prices might stabilize, RAM might go down), so your current parts list will most likely change.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Would you consider Intel over AMD at any point in time? Just curious

For what you're doing, probably not. Unless you can spend a bit more, in which case an 8700k could be worth considering. And gaming is a fair bit of what you're doing.

ryzen is notorious for liking fast ram. So like 3200 mhz doesnt seem like its out of your price range.  not wanting to beat a dead horse but you could make this setup to around 850-1000$ if you wanted to

I'm all ears!
