Nzxt manta grills

So I have had the nzxt manta for a while now and whenever I remove the front panel to clean the filter only the bottom fan is actually dirty. 

 

So here's the question, would removing the side grills on the front and top panel improve airflow? 

Or is the result so miniscule that it won't matter? 

 

I thought I would ask seeing it takes a fair amount of time to see if the top intake fan gets as dirty as the bottom and maybe some1 has already done this. 

 

FYI the case is on my desk and I am a clean freak.

The Grills themselves? No. The whole panel? Yes
