Hitfilm Pro

Go to solution Solved by yolosnail,

Personally I would probably go with Vegas, but that is probably because I've been using it for years. I think it's one of the easiest editors to use, but it really depends on what you will be using the most. Do you really need the compositing features of Hitfilm? Because if you do, then go for it. But if you don't, then I would just go with Vegas.

I'm strongly considering purchasing Hitfilm Pro as I have been waiting for a $200 sale for a while. However, some say that Sony Vegas is superior for the editing experience, but Hitfilm is better at compositing and also includes Mocha. (I'm not including Adobe's software in this since it's a monthly subscription.) Is there any reason not to purchase Hitfilm Pro as my main editor and compositor?

I've tried the free Express, Vegas Pro, and Premiere Pro CC. I prefer Express over Vegas Pro but Premiere beats then all

Have you tried ShotCut? It's a bit steep to learn but I use it for YouTube videos and it's free. I found it does a very good job of making videos look pro.

I definitely need the compositing features for short film production. The interface seems easy to use after some practice with the free version.

I've been using the free version of Hitfilm for over a year which is fine for gaming editing and the like, it's just that I'm finding uses for more advanced features now.
