just wondering what opinions you have on this cooler? would it work for cooling a 8350? the stock cooler isn't cutting it in the heat at the moment. i will be geting water cooling in a month or so  Thanks

Have a look at this, it should help you out until you water cool.

As a 150W TDP cooler, the Vortex Plus should be better than your stock, but I'll even admit it's on the older side of things. I'd look at the Hyper 212 Plus. It's 180W TDP with fantastic performance, It's the general previous to the wildly popular Hyper 212 EVO, performs nearly the same. More specs info here.
