'$5000 on ram' WTF man? most people dont have that to spend on a car to any capacity.

main/gaming system: intel core i7 5930K, 16GB Gskill ddr4, asus X99 deluxe, 2 titan X's in SLI, corsair AX860 PSU, noctua NH-d15, samsung 512 PRO SSD, 2+3 seagate HDD's, blu-ray ODD, corsair graphite 780t.   game capture system: AMD FX 8350 BE, 16GB ram (left over parts from torn down system), asus ROG crosshair V formula-z, GTX 770 SC, avermedia live gamer HG capture card, elgato HD60 s external usb3 capture device, OCZ 700w, cryorig M9a, kingston 250GB SSD(left over part from torn down system), seagate 1TB internat HDD, seagate backup plus 5TB USB 3 extrenal drive, corsair carbide 200R.

I know stuff like this is because its what brings in the audience. But sometimes I have to think "Linus maybe once you should leave something as per the manufacturers specs for once". I have seen a number of videos where something has gone very wrong where it wouldn't have if it was just left alone and not tinkered with.

My surprise in this video is no one actually commented on the PPR reference...

 

Personally While the video is dumb in nature, he is trying to prove a point that many here already know, just because it says it can doesn't mean you should. OCing a consumer version many have touched on including here but servers? Not so much... IMO it's a good thing, just not really for us.

He really should have gotten them to send him a pair of XEON 8180 "K" processors if he planned on overclocking.
