bad OC on 1080FE lead to no display with or without GPU installed (single beep from speaker at bootup)

Go to solution Solved by EvT1991,

so I left it alone for about an hour unplugged and now I actually got a display again, not sure why but I'm not complaining about it, ty so much for your help :)

using Strix b250i gaming mobo

GTX 1080 Founders Edition GPU

i7-7700k CPU

2x8 Trident Z RGB ram

everything was going perfect until I meddled with OC settings in EVGA Precision X and foolishly put the gpu clock offset too high and hit apply.. which nearly instantly (in about 2 seconds or so) made the screen turn to a solid color (tan I believe) I force powered down by holding the power button. I tried to turn it back on, but regardless of whether or not the GPU is powered and seated in the mobo I get no display, but the speaker gives one quick beep like it always does, and all my fans, lights and usb devices all light up and appear to be operating normally.

(when the gpu is removed I did make sure to plug the hdmi cable into the mobo)

I dont know what I can possibly do to fix the issue, so I am here to consult with the people who know better.

UPDATE: leaving it completely alone unplugged for about an hour seems to have did something, because now its working again

uninstall the gtx 1080 and plug the monitor input cable to the display output on the rear I/O instead (your CPU has integrated GPU, also known as debug GPU). Once you get into Windows, turn off precision X's auto apply overclock setting (or just uninstall it). Then you should be able to use your 1080 again.
