Remove scratches from PC monitor

I have a 24" dell monitor that i got for FREE and i really like it, but it has a nasty scratch on it, and  i was wondering if there is a way to remove scratches or am i stuck with my monitors "battle scar" as i call it.

really high grit sandpaper can buff the scratch out and make it blend in with the rest of the monitor

Depends on how deep the scratch is, and what monitor it is.

I am going to assume it is a slightly older Dell display. It might be possible to replace the plastic cover that is in front of the panel, but it will be hard to find a spare part and disassembly is not that easy.

 

Here is a guide for how to disassemble it (and remove the anti-glare coating if you want that). It might be helpful if you're going to replace the scratched part.

You are most likely going to be stuck with the scratch(es) though.
