CRACKED CD?

So I have a CD with pictures on it, the disk got cracked and whenever I try to run it in my optical drive it just does nothing. Wont post anything it just sits there doing nothing. Is there anything I can do to get the data off this cracked CD?

Yea the CD probably gone or you can clean it and see if that helps

You're essentially screwed, there's no real way to get data off of there.

You might be able to take it to some forensic data firm. But it'll cost you an arm and a leg if they even take up the job. Take care of your CDs next time.

i believe it's a DVD, not badly really, just a little on through a little over half of one side. You can see right here

there are solutions, tooth paste, some cd drives are better than others at reading damaged cd's, there are software for this,...

I remember coming up with this problem a million years ago when cd's were a thing. Google it and try.
