why is my google account disabled

I try to sign in to my Google account I get this message saying, it looked like this account was being used in a way that violated Google’s policies.

A hacker might have gotten into my account

Google is saying that I have violated Google’s policies, but they did not say what policies that I have violated. 

When I try to repeal, I get an email from YouTube, not Google.  If I have violated YouTube's policies, why would my whole Google Account be shut down without warning?  All my passwords, contacts, and my credit card info, are linked to my account.  Some of my college accounts are linked to my Gmail.  I cannot receive emails from my college.  If I forget a password for an account that uses my email, I can't open my email to reset the password.

Ah, gotcha. That's definitely legit then.

I get emails every now and then from various places, including google, saying that my account has been disabled but when you look at the source of the email it's not actually them but a spoofed email. You didn't happen to get one of those did you?

What happens when you try to restore it? Here's Google's help https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/40695?hl=en

In case you didn't already read it. We can only provide emotional support. But as only party that can actually do something is Google, you need to proceed with them. Its bit odd that they would go so straight forward with lock and wouldn't allow user to relocate stuff. When we are so invested into Google ecosystem, a decent thing from them would be to allow users to remove their stuff from accounts.

What about contacting google directly?

Google even says to proceed to restore. We do not know the details why it happened, it is not public information, so you will need to talk to them and find a solution.

Secondly, YouTube is owned by Google and these accounts are often combined/merged or like that.
