HELP :(

HEELLPPPP,

So I built a  new PC with an 8700k and a 1080. I fired up OW and some other games and it was smooth sailing, was easily pushing 300 fps on low settings and only using 50-60 percent of my gpu, I installed FF14 last night, played for a bit. then went out. came back, fired up my pc and now my frames in OW or down to 120fps on low settings and my gpu usage is at 100%. I dont know what changed or what to do, I reset my pc. that didnt help MY thermals are fine.

Ok. Bas clock should be 1607 Mhz and boost should be around 1733 Mhz

ok in game i get up to around 1800

Ok. To test if the GPU is doing any funny business, download 3DMark to see if the GPU performs worse than the others.

I just don't understand how a gpu can go from working fine one moment to broken the next? If it where damage for thermals I would see more than just bad performance would I not?

to add, the temperatures go up along with the maxed out GPU usage.

Okay, now I'm reading your post.

 

Try these one at a time until its fixed -

1. Do you have a gsync monitor?

1.A If yes, try switching in and out of windowed mode in overwatch.

1.B Turn vertical sync OFF in overwatch and esnure you aren't using the display based fps limit in the overwatch settings.

2. Uninstall ALL of your graphics drivers using DDU

2.A download and install the latest nvidia drivers.

3. Make sure to reply even if you fix it to help others in the future.

My apologies, It was a late night full of depressed troubleshooting lol.

IT's not just OW, any game including furmark, I unistalled all the drivers with windows uninstall but not DDU does it make a difference?
