Display port 1.4 at over 5 meters?

WhiteSkyMage

Is there any possibility that I could run a longer than 5 meters (16 feet) display port cable (1.4) and still get close to its max bandwidth (4K 90Hz possibly?) ?

Maximum length for DisplayPort is 3 meters.

For longer lengths, you need an ACTIVE cable. If you find one that's v1.4 o v2.0 then it should be capable of the bandwidth required for 4K, but not sure about 90 Hz.

For example, this 10m cable is active, but the bandwidth is only 10.8 gbps (displayport 1.1) so it can't do 4k 60 hz. It can only do 2560x1600 60 Hz  or 4K 30 Hz.

certainly looks like 4k60 DP cables exist that go 5m :)

(any google searches I do all end up on dutch websites so I can't really help you with your search for this cable in a certain shop)
