I have two drives, C drive -  SDD 128GB and D drive - 1TB WD HDD on a laptop.

I installed Ubuntu on a pendrive (Sandisk Ultra 32GB) and was running Ubuntu for a while, then I switched to windows, sill seeing everything fine, seeing both the drives on the pc working, when suddenly I notice D drive unmounted and when I went into manage, it says create a new partition. I reckoned that the drive's nuked, I made a partition of it without formatting but no hits.
Now I need to recover my hundreds of GBs of really really important data.

What can I do?

Either get it to a recovery service or use recovery software, friend had a similar thing happen and he got it all back with software but it's definitely more safe to send it in

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

When you say 'no hits', do you mean you've scanned the drive with recovery software? Recuva is my go to. If all you've done is recreate the partition, you should be able to recover most, if not all, of your data.

If you want good hardware recommendations, please tell us how you intend to use the hardware. There's rarely a single correct answer.

I just used a software i.e. EaseUS Data Recovery, still recovering files. But the files that are recovered at least it seems to be are all broken, I can't even open an image. So yeah, may have to see a specialist now.

Even I use Recuva, but this time around I'm using EaseUS, if it doesn't work, then will try Recuva too.

Make sure to not write anything to the disk, or it may become unrecoverable by even the experts.

I know it, also I can't, the File system is RAW, since I didn't format it to make a partition.

Status update - EaseUS recovered a worthless pile of shit and Recuva can't act because the file system is not supported and needs a format.
I live in India so chances of finding a specialist near me is highly unlikely and I cannot send the drive to someone because obviously I may never get it back.

Dude I did find some, but they're far away and really really questionable, still would call and coordinate with them. Thanks

Try to ask your friends, coworkers etc if they ever needed data recovery and what company they used. Maybe for example your fathers friend owned a data recovery company, and you didnt know it.
