Windows 8 vs Windows 8.1 performance?

Go to solution Solved by Crunchy Dragon,

If I recall correctly, 8.1 = 8 with better touchscreen support.

No performance difference between the two.

Hello.

I'd like to know if there's any difference between Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 in terms of performance. Say the hardware's exactly the same, will I get more fps on 8.1? Or will it boot faster? Will it utilize SSD read/write speeds more efficiently?

Thanks.

Seem a little optimistic there. Theres really no difference, just go 8.1 as it is much better than 8 in terms of GUI.

You'll get pretty much 0% in performance differences.

And support. Windows 8 isn't support and shouldn't be used. 8.1 is supported.

Yeah well, I could download any OS from torrent sites for free but most of them aren't trustable and right now the only legit copy I received is a Windows 8. By support you mean windows updates btw?
