Last night I powered down my PC through the desktop, that I just got done using in order to move it to my new desk area.

When I plugged everything back in at my new desk area, the SSD is not recognizing the install of windows and requests me to insert a bootable drive.

I have checked in the BIOS, the SSD is there, as the bootable drive.

I have switched Sata Cables and ports.  I've disconnected the HDD, which does not have windows on it.

I have reset CMOS

Not sure what else unless the data was just wiped or the SSD has gone bad.

Yeah i got 2 ssd died suddenly. Bad sandforce controller is plague with problems.

Thats why i don't trust ssd for storing important files.

You can try the ssd on another system with sata to usb cable and run a data rescue program.

Hopefully its just a corrupt partition scheme, most of the time the data still intact just the partition not visible.

Just make sure to not format the drive even if windows ask you.

SSD is less than 6 months old

rescue any data and RMA for sure.

zero tolerance for failed ssd, after rma sell it and get another brand like samsung / sanddisk.

How exactly would he be able to recover the data if the partition can’t be read? I want to know so I may use it personally should mine fail. Mine is a crucial bx300, I’ve heard good things about them though so I’m not expecting it to.

Yes sometimes data rescue software can retrieve the data inside the broken partition container.

What's broken is just the partition scheme, the data basically still there.

As long as you don't format it, the data is untouch and can be rescued.

The software can also retrieve some data from a formatted drive, but the integrity not 100%.

That's why you should not quick format a drive if you want to sell your device, always full format, slower but secure.

Some of programs i've used Glary Undelete and EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard.

Different programs have different algorithm, so try each one of them.

That is if the drive is still alive...

ps. i use crucial too. MX100 no problem so far. Crucial (micron) is a 1st tier manufacture same level as sanddisk. knock on wood.

Yeah, I've just tried to install windows 10 on the SSD.

But I can not make it a partition that I can use for the install.

I wen't through diskpart in cmd and tried to format the SSD that way.

Still nothing.

So I installed windows to my HDD to try and initialize the format it in Disk Management.

Doesn't even show up, but reads in BIOS.

Should I just assumed it's dead?

Also there wasn't anything on it, that I needed to recover.
