I'm just ready for it because they are quoting 20-40% improvements. And thats huge. That could possibly make my 7870 more powerful than a 770.

That is what I am saying, they have been quoting numbers for months!  They must come from some test, somewhere, done with some card.  LET US SEE IT!

If it was done in Firestrike on a 7970, I want to see it.  If it was done in a pre-alpha BF4 kernel on a 7990, show us!  If they have something to quote these numbers from, they can show us.

There are many AMD users trying to comfort themselves about this and I mostly agree. I believe this game was suppose to launch with Mantle. So...non-Mantle AMD optimization wasn't as thorough. I think DICE counted the eggs in the basket...

I personally have only experienced server issues. I have one friend with a 8350/7970 rig and he still, as of 12/17 gets red screen crashes. Another friend 8350/780...no issues though he plays on PS4 mostly now. If he was a member on here I'd expect everyone to flame him. Another friend 8350/660ti x2 has had many issues with framerates and stuttering, but doesn't crash.

Ermm they never said it would be out before the end of the year, wait!!! it will be worth it if the 20-50% gain they are saying is to be believed. I doubt it myself I know it break the 5k drawfame wall that devs has but unless they totally recoded BF4 for Mantle we wont be seeing the 50%. Perhaps newer games such as Star Citizen will get a better boost.

I am not saying it needs to be out.  I have a HD5870 in an old build that could be more useful with Mantle, but my main GPU is a GTX680 so I won't even see any improvemnt (unless AMD lets Nvidia work to recode Mantle some for Nvidia GPUs).  All I am saying is that it is ridiculous that they keep quoting all these numbers, but they have not shown us anything.

The only issues I have with BF4 is just texture issues, which to me I couldn't care less about,

nothing an update won't correct, nor anything game breaking, I'm running on average 100+ fps on

all the settings maxed out completely, haven't had any issues with the community but that's because

I have my own community of friends that I play with via Skype, which I recommend.

All of my computer's COMBINED total up to 6GB. But I'm poor. 4GB would be a lot more reasonable, in my eyes.

The game uses actually that much.

The game even eats up more then 2GB Vram when fully maxed out with 64players on a big map.

And now that next gen consoles have 8Gb ram 32bit will die soon.

32Bit already is dead. As for the vRAM, it depends on your resolution. When I tried the 64player map (when it worked), I only used about 1.5GB of RAM maxed out at 1440x900 on my terrible monitor.

I run out of my 2Gb vram on 1080p on some maps.

Nvidia really messed up with the Vram.

The my GTX670 runs out of vram before it runs out of peformance :/

Turning down AA should help. If I was on 1080p MANTLE would solve it. C'mon EA...

They tested mantle and the numbers werent convincing enough, so they are too embarrassed to launch it. Could be a possibility :D

It is their first try at making something similar to DirectX/OpenGL, so there's BOUND to be a few problems...

We already know that it can do 10x more Draw Calls then DirectX and OpenGL.

How big the improvement gets is up to the game developer and has nothing to do with Mantle.

The fact that the update I just downloaded for the game is messing with my graphics when crossfire enabled.  Looks worse than playing on low settings.

Or, ya know, you could just play on high settings with one 7950 in the mean time.
