How can you over come the 8 gb ram limit

What 8gb ram limit? You can run freenas on much more and much less ram. And the ram requirements for freenas like 1gb/tb is bs and it will run fine on much less.

In the terminal I did not come so far in the setup and the problem is that I don’t have access to the server now by me it’s 23:00

Then the problem is probably a bad usb or how you put it on the usb. Try a fresh download on a different usb.

so you want to make a ftp server?

 

hostname is whatever you want, its just for finding it on your network.

I second the bad USB drive... I had the exact same problem. I reinstalled Freenas on a known good 8GB USB drive and it resolved the issue.
