Hi everyone! We're in the process of selling our house, and as part of the sale I am looking to potentially take some of the money (not much as we need to do some repairs to the new house) to build my first PC. At present, I have no parts that I can use at all and no experience of building previously, but I am looking for the following, if possible:

1. Budget & Location

£800 GBP - May be able to stretch to £900 if the parts warrant it. EDIT: I am in the UK so parts would need to available there

2. Aim

Mild gaming (I don't game much but may be looking to get into it a bit more), Microsoft Office (for work) and web development software

3. Monitors

Two monitors would be preferable (I doubt the budget spreads to three). This would need to be included In the budget please

4. Peripherals

I do have a keyboard and mouse that I would be able to use, unless you can recommend something. I will also need Windows 10

Thank you all in advance!

My current laptop: HP Compaq Presario CQ62

Hi Allupyourfinger. Are all the parts available in the UK (I know I put GBP but didn't say I'm in the UK, I'll edit the original post)

You should be able to find all of the parts on Amazon.com or other UK retailers online.

Chose one slightly nicer monitor with Freesync (though the motherboard doesn't have a DP connector), and the cheapest IPS monitor. The motherboard has enough display outputs.

Whoops. Didn't realize. Here is an updated list it's a little over budget. I would try to look on youtube or just online for budget systems than you can see other peoples experiences with that build.

Is it that good that you can do mid-end gaming?like is it 1050ti/1060 level?

About GT 1030 level. OP did say "mild gaming" though, so it might be enough.

An overclocked 2400G is fine for light gaming. Around 1030/750 Ti level. So around console level, and OP can just add a dGPU once the prices get less ridiculous, should they want to.

That build is still for the wrong side of the Atlantic. Prices and availability varies by country. There's a PCPP UK.
