Hi looking for recommendations on a 15" workstation video editing laptop.

Primarily working with 4K Footage, Adobe Premiere and After Effects.

Budget is around $2000

Currently looking at these three.

Apple 15.4" MacBook Pro with Touch Bar (Late 2016, Space Gray)

Dell XPS Thin and Light Laptop - 15 15.6" 4K

HP 15.6" ZBook Studio G4 Mobile Workstation

Greatly appreciate any recommendations.

Thank you!

the dell xps is the fastest of the bunch due to the faster gpu. Id personally get the sku with a 512gb ssd, and use a external edit drive(makes it much easier to move to other systems)

Then id get 32gb if you need it, ae loves ram.

The XPS 15 is an amazing all-around and should meet your needs precisely.

Get the macbook if you're into Final Cut Pro, there isn't any matches in the windows side.

The caveat is that you cannot upgrade the parts especially the memory, this is crucial for editings, you may wanted more memories in the future, you'll be stuck with 16gb, which is minimum for 4k editing.

The dell XPS is a great all rounder as it has a gtx 1050 4gb. This will be a good choice if you're into gaming also. It support up to 32gb of ddr4 memory which is good.

The HP Zbook is better for serious video editing as it has the Quadro GPU with 4gb vram, you may want to research this topic, i personally never used a quadro before, all i know that is better optimized for open-cl applications.

Not optimize for gaming but it will game a little slower, it has the performance of a gtx960m.

The backpanel is easy to access for quick upgrade.

Ryzen 5700g @ 4.4ghz all cores | Asrock B550M Steel Legend | 3060 | 2x 16gb Micron E 2666 @ 4200mhz cl16 | 500gb WD SN750 | 12 TB HDD | Deepcool Gammax 400 w/ 2 delta 4000rpm push pull | Antec Neo Eco Zen 500w
