Cheap Cisco network gear for CCNA?

Go to solution Solved by Jay Deah,

if its CCNA then a 3650 should probably do you. if not look for companies that buy cisco equipment in your local area, they'll also sell 2nd hand stuff. Cisco kit is traded like a comodity in the IT world! crazy!

Does anyone know where I can get cheap server and network gear for a personal cisco lab? I scored a cisco catalyst 3650 yesterday but I need more. Any ideas?

You can use GNS3 (Graphical Network Simulator 3).

With GNS3, you can also use your ethernet card to connect to real network and mixing physical, and virtual labs.

GNS3, Packet Tracer, or if you plan to go further then look at VIRL

If you want equipment then 2811 or 2801 routers and 3560, 3750, or even 3550s will do fine. Maybe some old 2950s or 2960s too for pure L2

Ebay has it all. Anything that's 100mbit is pretty much useless for enterprices these days, so they're sold for cheap.

Look for the models @Lurick mentioned. There's even people selling CCNA Lab kits to make it a bit easier. I'd suggest atleast 2 routers and 3 switches. But an extra router wont hurt.
