Cod Ghost wont stop lagging

My friend just upgraded to a 7870 Ghz from a 8800 gt, so he could play ghost but at any setting it lags out in multiplayer

His specs:

Amd phenom ii x4 965 black edition (stock cooler)

Xfx 7870 Ghz

8 gigs of 1333 ram

500 watt silverpower psu

Segate barracuda 1 tb

Got any ideas for how to fix this?

(Btw he's got the newest drivers)

its unoptimised even 780 ti's can lag on it

But can the lags be caused by cpu throtteling (misspelling cuz on taptalk now)

And i know the bad optimizing from infinity ward is some of the reason, but this should atleast run over 30 fps at lowest settings in 720p with this gpu

Titan's and 780 Ti's lag in Ghosts, it's an unoptimized pile of fecal matter.

What lag are you on about? Connection lag, in game menu lag or any other lag? I have been pretty ok when it comes to stutters and such except maybe the odd time with a sniper (dual rendering of scope) and I am on a GTX 670.

I'm running 49FPS 1080p on a HD7870 and a i3-3220 (MAJOR BOTTLENECK) in BF4.

I know this is bad but i run almost maxed on my 7970 the difference isnt that much

Wow I have seen nothing of the sort. It certainly isn't optimized that badly (pretty close though ). I know friends of mine with 5870's and 6950's have had no issues like that either. There is definitely something up with that.

 

Were the Nvidia drivers fully uninstalled and then the AMD drivers installed?

Its funny how many people come on to bash COD alone instead of helping the OP. I think the COD players are too afraid to speak up .

It annoys me too. I keep finding myself going back to other versions since it came out. BO1/2, COD4 and I even installed COD 2 yesterday. lol

The thing is (For me at least), Ghosts is TRULY the worst game I have ever played. By that I mean, I thought ALL of it through and found no reason whatsoever to play the game anymore (Unlike others, the "same  game x times" thing never came into my mind).

 

Again, have you checked all your drivers?

 

At least you've played it. Most comments here are from people who wouldn't even look at a COD game.
