My budget is like $2000. With this money i can get.

 Option 1) If i buy PC i can get , 22 inch 1080p monitor ,i7 8700k , Ram: 16 GB DDR4 , GPU: Gtx 1080 .                                Option 2) And if i go for laptop with this money. I can get 17.3 inch 120Hz probably with G-sync if i get Asus brand , i7 8700k , Ram: 16 GB DDR4, Gtx 1060.

So which one should i get until 2019 ? Because in 2019 i will buy Gtx 2080Ti OC , 9th generation i7 ice lake , 32 GB ram ddr4 and Monitor Asus Rog Swift PG279Q monitor . So which option should i go until 2019. I am very confused.

Desktop, why all intel and Nvidia. I would wait, Ryzen 2 is coming out in April. If you can’t wait just buy a Ryzen 1600. And if your going 1080p until 2019 just get a GTX 1070.

8700k in laptop? I'd opt for option 1. Much better graphics card there

Don't get a laptop, unless you're going to be traveling A LOT. Laptops just don't cut it. If you're going to be going to college, its much better to get a desktop unless you're going to be constantly leaving your college campus to do stuff. The only reason I have a laptop over a desktop currently is due to the fact I am in the Army reserves I spend a lot of time traveling too and from my drill once a month, and it's nice being able to do some single player gaming during a 6+ hour bus ride.

*EDIT*reallu nice gaming laptops that have 1070s and 1080s can be heavy, bulky, and suck on battery power. Stick with a tower, spend $1,000 and If you HAVE to have mobile gaming then something with an mx150, ryzen5 or 7 with vega, or a 1050 can be purchased as low as $650

I don't see why you're planning on all these upgrades... A 1080 will be very good for a long time and it's very OP for a 1080p screen, especially since you're going with a crap 22"60hz one. I would get a desktop unless you need a laptop for university

For 1070's and up that is true of laptops but I will attest to the gaming and daily usability (especially battery) and cooling abilities of my Inspiron 7000. Pascal has really changed laptops. I'd still recommend a desktop unless you need portability but I'm just pointing it out

But another problem is if i go for Option 1 my parents won't give me money for 2019 gaming PC they will say you already brought a PC .

Get like a 1050ti laptop and out the rest into savings.

1060 laptop is a good idea that will last long. I just think that you’re spending a lot of money on hardware with the purpose to distract you from more important things.

Maybe your parents will always support you financially but the money for a full specced i9 system and a 2080ti can go a loooooooooong way in a savings account if you leave it in there.

But hardware that you need, unless you’re doing professional workloads for a living (or actually have the cash), X299 isn’t worth it.

You’re like 18? Having a bit of extra spending money for university is much better than having a 2080ti (some PCMR members would argue this :P )

You have way better upgrade path with AMD CPUs, and your upgrade path always changes, just buy what fits your needs.

Inter and gtx compared to amd give me more fps in gaming and better performance. Amd get hotter. Inter and gtx is long lasting.
