best budget phone

ok so currently i have a samsung galaxy s6 which has a lot of scratches and dents and horrible battery life, so i wanted to upgrade my phone but i only have £200

what would be your recommendations and why, i dont mind buying used as long as its from ebay.

ive heard the elephone s8 is pretty good, what are your opinion on thats

battery life as well was one of the main issues and after replacing all that i could have got a new phone on ebay

The Elephone S8 isn't anything special especially considering it's a Chinese phone. If you want to buy something from the official distribution, then I'd say that the best phone you can get is the Motorola Moto G5s Plus, however it will have slower cpu than your current phone. If you want to buy something from china then the best buy should be the xiaomi mi note 2 which goes for around 300 - 320$ (210 - 220 pounds).

You could also replace the battery in your s6 with a battery from s7 edge, which will greatly improve it's battery life.

ok wel in the uk the xiaomi note 2 goes for about £300 bud thanks

Try looking at the British company Wileyfox. My teacher back in high school had one and it seemed alright.

If I remember correctly, the resale of Apple products is quite high and so you may be stuck getting a good quality Iphone for that price. (I may be wrong)

It ain't bad. Just don't expect any firmware updates...ever! These Chinese phones come with average to mediocre software, so the phone is slower than the specs suggest. But not bad. 

 

Installing a custom ROM fixes that problem but it hinders the camera quality. And installing a custom ROM feels like entering the matrix. It's complicated.

 

Anyways, you're probably better off with a refurbished iPhone (SE or 6 or 6S) or Samsung (S6 or S7).
