When some like hits the like,agree, funny, or informative it goes up for each time someone hits one of those

 

and rep is kinda just a thing showing your helpful ,funny, etc

You get it when another user thinks your posts are either agreeable, funny, informative or likeable.

I'm apparently 'Idolized' reputation wise.  Someone messaged me literally yesterday asking me how I earned that... Till then I didn't even know that was a THING.  I was all 'Whaaaaaah?  Ha ha, I don't care about that anyway.'
