So the problem with my wifi's speed is that it droppped from nearly 20MB/s to 5-7.5 MB/s(these speeds came from steam, but on speedtest.net it is around 65MB/s as it was before).

The only have changed that my brother got a pc and he connected it via a cable to the router.

Steam is not a great place to measure internet speed due to so much traffic on its network, if ur getting 65mb on speedtest.net then all is ok with your internet.

The only time your brothers PC will affect internet speed is if hes using a lot of bandwith streaming or gaming for example.

Internet speed is measured generally in Mbps (Megabit per second), Steam shows it has MB/s (Megabyte per second). 8 bits per byte. 65 Mbps on Speed test is just over 8 Megabytes per second. So your getting the speeds your suppose to get.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

i pay for the same package, no changes were made to my ISP contract, so it should stay same.

Well according to Speed test you get 65Mbps, correct? If that is what you pay for, then your getting the correct speeds in steam. Steam displays data as Megabytes per second. 65/8=8.125 Megabytes per second. If your getting 5-7 Megabytes per second in steam, then your getting about what you pay for.

Also no, just because you pay for a certain package doesn't mean you get the speed all the time. So ISP's are over subbed, some ISPs like mine, give us 20% more than what we pay for. Also, the server your connected to, might not be able to deliver max speeds due to congestion. There is a shit load that can affect what speeds you get. With out knowing what speed package you technically pay for, I couldn't say if there is even a problem or not. Because according to your first post, your golden. Also, steam servers are shit most of the time. I never get fast speeds downloading from them, most likely due to congestion. This is the reason they always die during the steam summer sale.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

I guess i'll talk to my ISP and try to figure this out, but i have to thank you for your efforts in helping me.

You say your brother is connected via ethernet cable, does this mean you are connected wirelessly?

Wireless connections can often be slower than wired connections due to interference from other devices or walls and even other wireless networks.

Try getting a program called insidder and seeing whats the best wireless channel for u.
