I need help upgrading my pc im a noob

I want to upgrade my pc but I don't know what to do first I have only a $300 budget. I want to get better fps like in rainbow six siege,  Witcher 3, and other triple-titled games, I'm confused on which I should upgrade the CPU or GPU. People have told me to do the CPU because of GPUs right now should I wait or upgrade my CPU motherboard and ram. Also is there a CPU that requires me to only to upgrade motherboard and CPU. Thanks.

Specs:

OS- Windows 10 64bit

CPU- AMD FX-4300 quad core (3.8ghz)

GPU-Radeon RX 460 2gb

Memory- 8gb DDR3 ram

MotherBoard-GA-78LMT-S2

1TB hard drive

PWS- 450w

I'm going to preface this by saying I assume, since you used USD, that you're in the US. If not, let us know so we can adjust for your local currency :)

I would start with this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 3 1200 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($104.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock - AB350M Pro4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard  ($74.39 @ OutletPC)
Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-3000 Memory  ($93.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $273.37
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Right now GPU prices are like 2x to 3x in most cases their normal price and the CPU will have more impact.

Rainbow 6 will run just fine with GPU upgrade, but most triple-A games will need CPU, mobo, GPU and power supply upgrade, possibly the RAM as well (that's nearly throwing all of it away).

I'd say get a used graphics card (new ones are super expensive) and maybe a power supply first, something like a GTX 970 or 980? What's the PSU's model name?

Yes, and you can get a pretty decent overclock with the stock cooler as well.

If you have a limited budget you might want to avoid anything with ddr4 ram as it's extremely overpriced right now and not much faster than ddr3.
