Something like this will play pretty much whatever. If you want 4k at ultra you might look into a second video card but they're really expensive right now. Obviously things like case are a matter of personal preference.

If not just get an R5 1600/R5 2600, but here's a 16 core system anyways with a place holder GPU

$2985.38

And that's including a $900 monitor. The CPU is pretty important, but the GPU is the vital part. You could even go up to a 1080 Ti, but a 1080 can game in 4k 60FPS pretty easily.

What happened to this build lol

aside from like maybe buying the case, and power supply if it's on sale. SSD prices may go up or down, buying a 2TB firecuda at $99 is likely a safe bet I guess.

I can't even figure out how to spend more than $12k on a PC.

I'm still bitter I didn't mine Bitcoin years ago like I planned.

Of course even still there's always new stuff coming like these cases from CES

Your best bet is saving your money and buying the entire PC in one go, that method also allows you to return/exchange stuff easily if there's a problem. If you have your component sitting around past it's return date and then find a problem you're screwed.
