Once you sell it, then what? Your PC will be useless for at least another 6 months :P

True that.

Bought my RX 480 8GB XFX Triple X RS for 220€ in 2016. Sold it for 330€ on eBay in June 2017. Then I had to wait until December 2017 to buy a new GTX 1080 Gaming X in Switzerland for 428€.

 

... And my 3930K has no integrated graphics...

First look at how much it is selling around your area then look at higher performing card like a 1060 or 980 and see if they cost less. Cause if the prices of all GPU are the same you won't be profiting much unless you sell and wait for GPU prices to go down to make the purchase later.

Well, I got a good deal in the end and the total cost for my brand new 1080 Gaming X was 318€ once you factor in the profit I made reselling the RX 480.

And IMHO, 318€ for a 1080 is a REALLY good deal! (Check the prices on eBay now...!)

I'm even almost hesitating to resell my 1080 to buy something better later on.
