Future Proof 1st Build (Ryzen/Nvidia)

OGH2020

I am looking into building a pc for some gaming, and possibly content editing/streaming. I plan to play PUBG, Fortnite, Rainbow Six, CSGO, and others like those. I’m not planning on buying until parts get cheaper, but am I making any really stupid beginner mistakes? Also my budget is around $1000 USD and I’m not interested in used parts.

Thanks!

Edit:

1 monitor, 1920x1080 but one day plan to upgrade to a 2560x1440 monitor.

First thing that comes to mind is that a 960 Pro SSD is kind of overkill, as it's only intended for specific usage (unless you know you really need it for your editing). You could swap to a large Samsung 850 Evo for similar price, or use a similar size but save money.

Also, I'm not sure if that would be the case, but I would get a graphics card with dual fans, hopefully the fans won't ramp up as much when under load.

Asus X99-A w/ BIOS 3402 | Intel i7 5820k OC @4.4GHz 1.28V w/ Noctua NH-U14S | 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 OC @2666MHz 12-14-14-28 | Asus Geforce GTX970 STRIX OC | EVGA 750 G2 750W | Samsung 850 Evo 1 TB | Windows 10 64-bit | Be-Quiet Silent Base 800 w/ Silent Wings | 2x Dell U2414H OC @72Hz w/ Display Port

Don't forget to invest in an Intel Tuning Plan if you're going to overvolt your K/X CPU

lesser of an ssd, mayba sata, way cheaper, and get a 100HZ or 1440p monitor?

Meant to switch that out thanks, and I'll look into a dual fan GPU.

Thanks!

PC looks pretty well. But you could save some bucks if you go with regular sata SSD instead of m.2 - the performance is almost the same. You could spend the saved money on a GPU with better cooling maybe...

Also, AMD is going to release new CPUs in March, so keep an eye for that

No it's fine. There's not much to PC building these days. You kind of have to be an idiot to really mess it up.

Ultrawide monitors are the best. Sacrifice everything for them. Don't let any of these heathens tell you otherwise.

Edit:

Would a 1050Ti or a 1060 3gb suffice? or should I stick with the 1060 6gb

not worth the extra $200 just for an extra fan, get the single fan 1060 and use the money somewhere else.

This build should be about $1250 USD, and I want to play games like PUBG and other games like it. I also want to stream, and maybe edit videos. Am I missing anything? I'm not interested in used parts.

Thanks,

Owen

Edit:

In the future I'll invest in a CPU cooler, and more storage. Thanks for all the help.

More HDD.  1TB does not cut it anymore for a gaming PC with games being 50-100GB a piece.  I would get a 3-4TB HDD at minimum.
