144hz 1440 montior. Questions and suggestions?

Pretty much I want a 1440p monitor but I want it to be good for comp gaming as well. Csgo and stuff like that. So my questions are. Will they be 144hz all the time or is that overclocked or something like that? Can I turn them down to 1080p if my pc can't handle the 1440p on a game? Can I use them with a 60hz secondary monitor?

How do I find the input lag so I can decide which one will be a better purchase?

basically 144hz for serious gaming and only if your pc can get 144 fps or above at all times and 1440 if u want it to look nice.

If it says 144hz on the specs or description it will run at 144hz all the time. Seeing as you have a 1080 from experience I can tell you that you can get above 144hz a majority of the time at 1440p in most games. Yes you can hook up any combination of monitors you want, and those monitors look really similar. I would go for the asus one as it has a higher refresh rate.

 BUT I got this monitor over any other of the monitors because it is a 144hz 1080p curved ultrawide for a freaking amazing price. You will definitely notice pixels when writing word documents and stuff like that but not when you are gaming. Another question. The asus monitor has a 4ms response time and the other one has a 1ms.
Any idea how big of a difference this is?

You can also check the aoc ag271qg, which should be sharing the same panel as the two you mentioned. It can be oc to 165Hz like the predator (didn't check if the Asus is the same). I got mine to 165Hz with no problem. The aoc is usually cheaper but has probably the worst osd between the three.

 

For the input lag I found a big comparison a while ago before buying my monitor but I can't find it anymore. I remember monitor with a very quick response time gtg being actually quite worst than others when comparing input lag. In my opinion even input lag aren't noticeable unless professional gamer, but this is the number you should check instead of the grey to grey response time
