Naw man, this build list looks pretty good congratulations welcome to the PC Master Race. I do have one suggestion for your os don't spend $89 bucks on the os buy it for $30 here: https://www.kinguin.net/category/19429/windows-10-professional-oem-key/. And spend the rest of that money on an SSD if you want. :) SSD really speeds up your system.

Is it possible for me to get this build under $600 when gpu and ram prices go down? Also get stuff on sale?

Yes, you should be able to get it for about $600 or under. Back in the day when prices were normal, you could build great systems for under 600 all the time.

I only want to do 1080p at 60fps. The i3 is better than the i5 4460 and that's more than enough for me.

Can someone try and make a list for me that includes these 2 parts? Made one myself and it was over $1200 :p. I can deal with it being $650 max though. Thanks in advanced.

it's only slightly better, they have the same core count just with slightly improved IPC, but if you already have a haswell i5 you're better off upgrading that to a 4770/123x v3 and spending the money on the GPUs than getting an i3 8100.

First ever build. Only 14 and hard to earn money. Looking to run most games at 1080p and 60 fps. Specifically Need for Speed: Payback at medium to high settings.

Won't happen, the GTX 1060 3GB is $500 alone.

Wait till shortage is over or buy used.

How come? I always thought the G4560 is a better fit and for a $50 difference without mining price inflation is 30 frames better in NFS Payback.

Not possible unfortunately

8100 - $120

Mobo - $106

RAM - $90

That's already over $300 and the cheapest 1060 3GB on the market right now is going to run you another $350, at least for a while still.

So unless you can get a PSU, Case, and Hard Drive for free. You're looking at around $750 minimum. Even a Ryzen system is only going to shave about $50 off.

well system balancing, itd really kill your performance, what do you want this sytem to be used for?

Then why's your build $1200? Even with "normal" pricing, that'll knock off maybe $300 ($250 from GPU, $50 from RAM). And why go for the weakest Coffee CPU, a crappy AiO, a high end motherboard, slow RAM, no SSD, and an overkill wattage PSU? With a $600 build last summer/fall, you would be looking at something like a 1060 6GB or RX 580 with a Ryzen 1200~1600.

There's no telling when pricing will come back to normal, that'll probably take quite a while. And the build will be outdated by then. Ask again when the pricing actually comes back to normal.

And please stop making constant posts about the build, which won't happen for the foreseeable future anyway...

:)

3 things:

You don't need watercooling for the 8100, it's a low TDP chip and you can't overclock it, plus, that H60 performs worse than air coolers sometimes so you're just wasting your money there, the CPU comes with the stock Intel fan that is more than enough for it.

$450 for a 3GB 1060 is crazy but there's basically nothing you can do about it, blame the miners.

There are cheaper boards that will be enough. *A gaming board with wifi well now that's funny*

ASUS X470-PRO • R7 1700 4GHz • Corsair H110i GT P/P • 2x MSI RX 480 8G • Corsair DP 2x8 @3466 • EVGA 750 G2 • Corsair 730T • Crucial MX500 250GB • WD 4TB

the 1050ti is a very capable car if youre playing at 1080p, itll handel pretty much anygame at 6o fps , just adject your graphics settings, if you want a 1060 you want to either go for a 8350k or a 8400

no way in hell is that build gonna drop down to $600 after the crypto mining craze is over. all the more reason why you should be upgrading the i5 you already have and get an i7/Xeon inatead of a new build.

I've always wanted a card that was equal or just a teeny bit better than a 970
