When I troubleshoot I get this message: 5e50eaad0b83ac9a5b4ceb3ed3327a25.png
https://gyazo.com/5e50eaad0b83ac9a5b4ceb3ed3327a25

I go to the link and install the media creation program where I get this message: 86c193c80aea229875b0abaeb4b7ce19.png

you download as iso

rufus onto usb

usb -> install windows

yes all data is gone when you format.

personally it's not worth installing again, just a watermark and you can't change some customization things.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

It's just annoying having Activate Windows on the bottom of my screen

You installed the wrong windows 10 version...

The orange screen tells you that, it says your key is for windows 10 home but you installed windows 10 pro, so windows can't be activated.

Apparently there was an update for Windows which does not support the windows 10 home installer which is why I am getting the message

this is why the windows installer tells you to make sure you're installing the right version for the key you have.

use it every day :P

(like, actually do.)

you cant "upgrade" anymore (as in upgrade an installed system), but the keys still work for activating windows 10 just fine.

That should be OEM so you shouldn't be able to reuse it.

Don't be surprised if windows says your license isn't valid in a few weeks. I've had that happen before.

its tied to the machine the sticker is on.

and we have plenty of systems that have been collecting dust for several months with a win10 activated with win7 key.

its not that you can only use the key once, its that you can only use the key on one device, ever.

non-OEM licenses can be carried over to new machines. (and come in a more pretty box.)

I know. I misunderstood what you meant. I thought it was trying to transfer an OEM copy from a prebuilt computer over to a new one.
