A relative of mine recently got an ipod for their 7 year old son. I set it up for them and gave them a sheet with all the apple id information. So recently their son put a password on it and forgot it so they tried to reset it and now it is stuck on the set process. They (stupidly) threw out the sheet i gave them for this specific reason and cant remember any of the details. So being their tech support they gave it to me and asked me to fix it. I have never really used an apple device and couldnt remember any of the details either. So i tried resetting the password but could not remember the email i made for it. I tried looking up the icloud on apples website function but cant remember the names i used. Is there any way to untie an apple device its icloud account without actually accessing it? Thanks.

Call Apple support maybe they can ask secret questions and provide you the information otherwise no other solution th at i know.

Nothing to do as a tech support shud just tyell them when u register for something and throw all ur information away dont cry a river if u cant retrieve anything later.

As long as you have proof of purchase, apple support will remove the link to the apple ID. If you restore it will still be linked and you will not be able to complete the setup without the details. I had this problem recently and because I had bought directly from Apple they had proof of purchase and removed the apple ID link.

so i download itunes and plug in the phone and reset it somehow? DDU?

If my mind serves right you enter DDU by holding power and home till the Apple icon flash and then release home. Muat connect and have iTunes on PC first.

google it, how to put iphone in DFU mode (sorry autocorrect change it to DDU) , after that plug it in to itunes and it should let you restore

If it is on the setup process and it is asking you for apple ID and password then restoring it via DFU will not solve the problem. This is down to the security of iOS as it stops someone stealing your device and restoring it to bypass passwords and have a functioning device.

Sony should resurrect their Walkman. Never as a kid did I have to deal with that level of BS from a music player.

Apple is notorious for being a pain in the ass with Apple ID if you so much as breath wrong--shame iPods are subjected to the same system as iPhones. If they can't remember the pass and you can't remember the email, the only option you really have is calling 1-800-My-Apple and providing proof of purchase.

After that, I would either email them info so they have a digital copy they can't throw away or return the thing and get a Korean Android player.
