250 ssd + 500 ssd best setup

Ribozyme

Hello guys and girls,

I started out with a 250 samsung 840 ssd in my first build last april. While it was fine at first it started to get a little full. I wanted ssd only because of the noiseless operation and safer against heat and shock damage. My idea was to slowly add more ssd storage as prices went down over time. And so I have been able to pickup a 500gb samsung 840 ssd for 200 euro(second-hand but new in box), amazing price right? Now I am not here to make you jealous(or am I?) but for advice.

Now everything is on the 250gb ssd. If I just add the ssd it will show up as drive D right? But I won't be able to install steam games to it seperated across the 250gb and 500gb ssd? Can I join them together into one partion so it shows up as drive C:750gb?

How would you guys set this up? I could always sell them off and buy a single 750gb model which would be a lot easier.. Awaiting your advice.

I have no clue how it really works (Someone can correct me if I'm wrong) but on 8 and 8.1 there is 'storage spaces' It may be possible to span the 2 drives with that? even if it is the C drive.

This is how you would add another game installation directory.
