can running a graphics card at 99% load be dangerous

I have a Nvidia geforce gtx 1060 msi card and have recently found that it runs at almost 100% load all the time when playing Watch_Dogs, yet never heats past 75 degrees. This still worries me though, as I am unaware of the potential dangers of overworking a gpu, I have NZXT CAM software, so I could overclock it a bit, but I'm a n00b, so I'd like some advice with that if that's my best option here to get extra frames, my specific card is at the amazon link below

As long as temps aren't high(75C is pretty safe) and the core voltage isn't high, it'll be fine.

It's perfectly normal, if your GPU wasn't used at 95+%, that would mean that the game is badly optimized or that you have a bottleneck problem.

I don't know where I'd have a bottleneck, my pc uses a i7 6700k, 16gb of ram, and the motherboard is a z170a pcmate from msi

You misunderstood, I mean ; it's ok.

IF the GPU useage is low, then that's not normal. 95% and up GPU load when playing a game is what you WANT, it's not a problem. ;)

since the general census is that it's fine, could you guys give some tips on how to maximize my fps with this card, usually it's atleast 30 fps on all games, so if at all possible I'd like to double that, I have a prebuilt system, so nothing special has been done to the card that I know of

Only way unless your display is locking your refresh rate at 30hz is to lower some graphical settings. To check if your display is locked at 30 hz right click the desktop, pick display settings, display adapter properties, then the monitor tab and make sure screen refresh rate is 60 hertz if you have a non-gsync display. :)

100% is the intended purpose. Unless the game is really old or extremely easy to run the you can see lower usage and it not be a bad thing.
