Asus AI suite 3 (Fan Controller) no longer opens

8-Bit Ninja
Go to solution Solved by Alex G.,

I really like Asus, but man, most of their software are pretty buggy ... I went through this a long time ago, and this is how I manage to make it work.

1.- Uninstall current version from Control Panel (typical uninstall, don't use the Add or Remove Programs from Windows 10, use the one uninstall from Control Panel)

2.- Go into the folder where AI Suite was installed and make sure to delete every folder from there.

3.- Run CCleaner and clean registry

4.- Turn off PC and unplug power chord for 30 seconds and turn back on

5.- Run AI SUITE 3 CLEANER

6.- Restart PC

7.- Download AI SUITE 3 VERSION 3.00.10 & 3.00.13 (Its a Beta version but is WAY more stable than others)

8.- On the downloaded file, right click on it and select Properties

9 .- At the very bottom, in the Security section, mark the checkbox that says "Unblock"

10.- Extract content and install.

11.- Turn off PC by using Alt + f4 then Shut Down.

12.- Turn back on and enjoy AI Suite

13.- Have a beer after all the trouble.

I hope it helps

title says it all, when i try to open the software nothing happens, and fans are running at max rpm instead of the values set through the software

Update 5/21 this method isn't working anymore, use the pinned method

Found a work around

  1. Uninstall AI suite
  2. Download and run AI suite cleaner https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?95038-AI-Suite-3-cleaner
  3. Download your AI suite 3, extract
  4. First run DrvResource\AXSP\axins.exe as administrator
  5. Then run Setup.exe in the main directory as administrator

I have a cue light I can use to show you when I’m joking, if you like.

I couldn't get it to install right either.

Boy, did a ton of problems and error messages ever come up after restarting after trying to install that. I ended up doing a system restore.

Apparently, from what I've read, you need to update your GPU Tweak II to the newest version as well.

I had the newest version of that though, but I also tried to install the AI suite from the driver page for my mobo which looked like an older version of it.

I'm not trying to install AI suite again until after the weekend though.

I don't want to deal with any of that crap until monday :P

It sure sucks that I can set my fans to turn off at idle though until then. I've got 3 nf-f12's on my 360 rad so they're pretty loud without that option. For some stupid reason it doesn't let you set that in the bios for PMW fans.

This is with the maximus hero vii.

I thought I had a unique issue here, I’m glad to know it’s not just me (Z87i-Deluxe)

I’m up and running using AI Suite III v1.01.46 using the method I posted.
