GTA V - 83 fps cap.

Hi. I have monitor 144hz Aoc . Using 1080p with 144hz on desktop. Cpu is 8700K and Gtx 1080 Ti.

I have a problem with GTA V. Using all high settings , vsync off in game. After 1 minute of gameplay my fps capping from 120fps to 83fps and stays on 83fps. I must restart game to make fps properly again. How can i resolve this? Nvidia panel settings all default. Game is updated. Thanks

 

 

Ah. On Window mode is all ok. No capping to 83fps. Only in fullscreen do this.

Hi. I have an question. Is any difference in temps when playing FULLSCREEN mode vs Window Mode in GTA V? I mean cpu temps will be the same or not?

Not much about temps, but it can affect FPS.

 

From what I experienced, it wouldn't make much difference, if any, in CPU temps.

So if my 8700K have 70C in GTA V in Window Mode. IN fullscreen the same will be?

It makes no difference. There's no real difference between full screen or windowed as far as the CPU is concerned.

If the game is rendered at the same resolution, then scaled down to the window size (if the window size is not the full screen), then no.

If the game's resolution is lowered to the size fo the window (if the window is smaller than the screen), there are two cases:

1. You were not GPU-bound in full screen. If so, FPS, and therefore CPU load, will remain unchanged.
2. You were GPU-bound in full screen, so lowering the resolution leads to higher FPS. The CPU idles less now, leading to higher utilization and potentially higher temps.

Other than that, windowed mode sometimes can create issues with GPU drivers and so on, but mostly has no impact.

Desktop resolution is 1080. Game resolution is 1080p the same, but window mode ( almost fullscreen ). So temps will remain the same if i switch fo Fscreen?

Also check your CPU and GPU temps, could be throttling.

You didn't say shit about temps. If i was dropping that many frames regardless of setting I would check temps first, make sure I didn't a dead fan or dusty filters or something. No need to be an e-thug.

Yeah, and full screen puts more load on the GPU. No its not clear, you are just assuming. And my reading is immensely better than your grammar lol.
