Depends which coolers you are thinking off, I don't think the cooling performance of air and liquid are too dissimilar from each other

Gas cooling.

That would be cool, I'm thinking of an A/C type thing though not sure where I'm going to start

The only way to get a great benefit from water cooling is having a custom loop.  Any top end recommended cooler will work great.  Most of the time water being slightly better.  I like water though, because it looks neat and tidy, but those tower coolers look bad ass lol.

@Baowwedx

The difference between a H100i and a NH-D14 is minor [+/- 3°C].

The air cooler is much more reliable. On an AiO such as the Corsair H100i you have many points of failure such as: Pump, bursting hoses, diffusion of coolant [will last about 5yrs till you have to replace it].

A high-end aircooler will basically last forever, and is MUCH more reliable and usable without any worries [no bursting hoses, or failing pumps]

And quieter.

I'd go for an Air-Cooler.

If you want custom loops that's a different story. But for H100i vs NH-D14 [same price +/-] NH-D14 wins.

Liquid or Air Cooling, I'm trying to build a gaming PC and I'm Still deciding on Liquid or Air Cooling. Which would be better?

Depends on where you live. I live in what is basically a desert so it is always hot and the only way to keep my pc cool in the summer is by water cooling. If you live in a cooler environment then air cooling should be perfectly fine and less of a hassle to install.

Its quite a bigger difference at load.
