No, and updating both wouldnt hurt (I assume ypu are updating the bios)

I believe you cant update the second bios, its only there for copying the contents of failsafe bios.

For example the Asrock bios on the Z87 tb4 has a manual switch to chose which bios to use. So you could run forever on B and even flash that.

To go further, as long as you only run from bios A, after the board has accomplished a few (haven't counted) successful boots, it copies its settings to bios B.
