    • Ryzen+ 2300X + Radeon RX 550
    • F It! Xbox One X (Project Scorpio Edition)

Okay, so I have a HTPC (Home Theater PC), which I use, well for that. I watch 4K HDR content and even have a Blu Ray Optical Drive to enjoy them. It is a mATX build, and here are the specs:

CPU: AMD 7th Gen A12 9800 APU (2M/4C/4T, 3.8GHz Base, 4.2 GHz Boost) (28nm Excavator v2, Bristol Ridge) (Top of the line, flagship, 7th Gen APU)

GPU: AMD Radeon R7 Graphics (iGPU, 300 Series), 8CU´s, 512 Stream Processors, GCN 3, 28nm, clocked at 1108MHz)

RAM: 8GB of DDR4 2400 (2x4GB)

Storage: WD Blue M.2 SATA 3D NAND SSD (250GB)

Motherboard: ASRock A320M-HDV (It has HDMI, mATX)

Case (the Expensive Part) Enthoo Evolv mATX TG, Silver)

Keyboard: EagleTec KG011 Mechanical Keyboard

Monitor (alongside a 4K TV): Acer G247HYU (IPS, 2560x1440p)

The thing, I think I may have to upgrade but I don't know what to upgrade to... (The PC, alongside my Gaming Rig (R5 1600X + RX 580 8GB + 16GB RAM) is used as a standard Home Machine in my house by my sister and Mom, mainly to edit some photos or light video and normal Home Use w/ Netflix  and YouTube (4K 60)/Facebook and MS Office. But to make the use experience better (specially for the photo editing, etc.), well I was thinking of an upgarde, but I dont know to what. Should I even upgrade in the first place? The used system would go to my grandpa (Id put it on a Cooler Master N200 Case and keep the Evolv) and buy him another of those Monitors that I have, but a bit larger, (G257HYU). I think an upgrade may help my sister specially.

The new system would have one of this configs.

(It would still have 8GB of RAM in a Dual Channel Config but 3200+MHz) (Another 250GB WD Blue 3D NAND M.2 SSD + 1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD/ FireCuda SSHD)

I would either select one of these APUs or a Ryzen+ CPU with an RX 550 (the MSI Aero ITX variant, 2GB OC)

Ryzen 3 2200G (the one with Vega 8, Comparable to the 1300X) ($99)

Ryzen 5 2400G (the Flagship, with Vega 11 and SMT, comparable to the 1500X) ($169)

Ryzen+ 3 2300X + RX 550 ($120-130 + $75)

Ryzen+ 5 2500X + RX 550 ($180 + $75)

As a change I would use a B450 MoBo instead of an A420, just to be able to OC and get extra features.

Or if this gets too complicated, I will go the Peasant Way and get an Xbox One X (Project Scorpio Edition) ($499)

So should I upgrade? Is it necessary? What should I upgrade to? Tell me on the comments below and VOTE on the Poll, I appreciate any usable info.

Do the systems you currently have do their job to your satisfaction?  If yes, then don't upgrade...  If no, then upgrade.

Build each machine for its intended purpose and within your budget.

Personally, I go for 'bang for the buck', but for you, it might be "MORE POWER, TAKE MY MONEY"...

You can use your existing motherboard if you won't overclock. Get the 2400G, from what I've heard it looks like it will have better GPU performance then a 550.

I don’t see anything wrong with any of your computers but I recommended the Ryzen 3 2300x with 550 as that’s more than plenty for any home use, and should be good enough for gaming. Though there’s nothing wrong with your media PC.

I have a Gaming PC, this Is merely a HTPC/ Home Use PC

Please my friend, do not go through the Peasant Way. In my opinion, it all matters on how much money you have to spend. If money is not a problem, then i suggest going all out with the Ryzen+ 5 2500X with the RX 550. And the fact of upgradability is all due of whether you want to upgrade or not. Whatever you feel like, just do.
