Intel graphics card? RUMOR

We all know about the inter-connect project Intel is currently doing by combining a Radeon Vega with Intel CPU, rumors also seems to think Intel is gonna replace the Radeon in 2019 with their own GPU but that begs the question could they also make PCI-E cards discrete graphics to? We all know the GPU market is a mess and supply is lower than demand which to me if Intel is ever gonna join the GPU race now is the time.

Probably not. I'm willing to bet Intel's not really interested in the high-end GPU market and if that's the case, it'd be better to continue what they're doing with Kaby Lake G, i.e., integrate the GPU on the same package.

i dont want to buy a GT 1030 for $200 because it has the intel name on it (and it only works with 7/8th gen core series CPUs!)

 

 

i really doubt amd will let intel take over their GPU division.

Also it would not hurt the market with a 3rd wheel right now even if Intels top card was at 980 levels it would help. :3

the reason why everyone dropped out of making high end gpus is because of patents (and buyouts)

Amy Su denied Raja the idea of taking Radeon with him. They ain't getting radeon. Ontop of that, They could make one, but it'd suck and no one would buy it

AMD and NVIDIA hold most of the GPU building patents. The only way Intel could remotely penetrate the market is to bring over Xeon Phi... which is ridiculously expensive as is. And even then, I'm sure there's one or two things AMD or NVIDIA hold that Intel would have to license.

Costly maybe but what if they can make better AI cards than their CPUs can do? There most be profit right?

everybody's bashing on intel's iGPs.. IrisPro580 with eDRAM gives the Vega10 a run for its money..

and that's in a 15W power profile. Imagine if they made it bigger and then let it stretch its legs.

If only Iris Pros weren't on CPUs where it doesn't make sense.

I would love to see iris pro in ultraboo CPUs and desktop pentium/i3s. 

 

High end iGPU in high end CPU doesn't make sense to me because it'll have a higher chance of having a dGPU instead of using the iGPU

Intel is too expensive for consoles and this is why they run AMD APUs that cost maybe $100

It's not that Intel is too expensive, they could never produce a chip with graphics as good as those APUs. AMD was in a perfect position when they began developing these consoles.

if VIA turn out to be garbo then intel may put resources in gpu making but if i were them i wouldnt. Not with amd closing the gap
