Swapping Phones - WHAT TO DO.....

I'm currently sitting with an iPhone 6s and a series 3 (GPS) watch, but I'm wanting to upgrade. I really don't know what phone I want to go with...

 

I've been looking into the google pixel 2 xl and also the Samsung Galaxy S8 - But there is only one issue, I've not used android in 2 years and my last experience with it I didn't really like at all... Has it changed a lot recently? (My last phone was the honor 7)

 

Any suggestions about new phones I could try or things about android would really help, thanks!

Android is now much slicker than it was a couple of years ago, and damn fast on the Pixel 2 (and XL). I'd go for that over the S8 if I were forced to pick between the two. Otherwise, I'd go for what I did go for a couple of days ago, the Xperia XZ Premium.

Yeah, that's what I've been hearing, android is becoming a lot slicker and that's mainly why I'm tempted with the Pixel 2 XL.

 

I do really like the look of stock android, I've had a look at the Xperia XZ Premium but it just looks a bit dated to me, what are your opinions on it? Good bang for you buck?

The design is nice, but is definitely of an older style if you’re thinking about screen to body ratio. Everything else is pretty great, though, so far, particularly for the price I paid for it. The screen is definitely a stand out, as is the everyday performance.

Yeah, the screen is sadly the big drawback on it... The one thing that is definitely appealing is the price I have to agree. Might be an option so I'm going to do more research on it.

Apple watch series 3 right? You sure you're willing to give that up for an Android phone? If yes, then there's tons of options.

 

S8 would be a great choice, if you're willing to accept the fact that its going to be outdated in a couple of months. It all depends on your budget and what you need in a phone.

 

Camera = Pixel 2 or 2XL

Display = S8/S8+ or Note 8

Audio (speaker quality) = Razer Phone

Durability = just get a rugged case with any phone

Budget = Oneplus 5T

 

All phones have pros and cons, it's what features that you want/need that makes a perfect phone.

If you want the best phone that is Mate 10 Pro, plus its UI looks kinda like the iphone so you will feel at home yet have all the advantages of Android combines with the amazing file system of Huawei! ^3^

Yeah its the apple watch series 3, I dunno if I really wanna do the swap cause I am very glued to apple. It's just the price of the new phones that is really holding me back...

Cheers for that list, it's really helpful. One biggy is battery life though, which one would you say is the best choice to go for on that side of things?

Hahaha, I actually looked at the Mate 10 Pro and from what I've seen its a good phone but I used to have a Huawei phone and from those experiences, I didn't like the software at all. Sadly it'll have to be a no with that phone.

Probably the one with the biggest battery, Razer Phone. The thing is, many things are sacrificed for that battery, especially the headphone jack. By the way, Razer Phone is 5.7 inches, and not 18:9, so it might be a bit too big.

Ahh okay yeah, I've heard a lot of good things about the oneplus 5T, especially the price is really attracting me to it. Although I think I'm gonna leave it for a little bit and see what the oneplus 6 is like cause that's rumoured to come out soonish, around March time.
